Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup cooked taro root (peeled and cubed)
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk or honey
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cupcoconut milk (for extra creaminess)
  • Optional: ¼ cup tapioca pearls (for a bubble tea twist)

Instructions
 

  • Cook the taro – Peel and dice the taro rootinto small cubes. Boil them in water for about 15-20 minutes or untilthey become soft. Drain andlet them cool completely.
  • Blend the ingredients – In a high-speed blender,combine the cooked taro, milk, ice cubes, condensed milk (or honey), vanillaextract, and coconut milk. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.
  • Adjust the texture – If the smoothie is toothick, add a little more milk to reach your desired consistency. If it’s toothin, add more ice or a small amount of extra taro.
  • Add tapioca pearls (optional) – If using boba pearls, cookthem according to package instructions and place them at the bottom of yourglass before pouring the smoothie.
  • Serve and enjoy – Pour the smoothie into a chilledglass, garnish with a sprinkle of taro powder or shredded coconut,and enjoy immediately!
