Crispy & Sticky Spicy Honey Chicken Tenders Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb (500g) chicken tenders
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

For the Coating

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Spicy Honey Glaze

  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

For the Spicy Honey Glaze

  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
    In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlicpowder, and cayenne pepper. Add the chicken tenders, making sure they are fullycoated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight formaximum flavor and tenderness.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Coating
    In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, salt, smoked paprika, onionpowder, baking powder, and cayenne pepper. Remove each chicken tender from thebuttermilk, letting the excess drip off, then dredge it in the flour mixture.Press the coating onto the chicken to ensure an even, crispy texture.
  • Step 3: Fry the Chicken
     Warm up vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer until it reaches 350°F(175°C). Fry the coated tenders in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cookfor 4 to 5 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.  transfer them to a wire rack to drain excess oil.
  • Step 4: Make the Spicy HoneyGlaze
    In a small saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, applecider vinegar, salt, and garlic powder. Heat over low heat, stirring until wellblended. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • Step 5: Coat the Chicken
    Drizzle or toss the crispy tenders in the warmspicy honey glaze, ensuring an even coating. Serve immediately for the bestflavor and textur
