Brew the tea. Bring 2 cups of water toa gentle boil. Add your Earl Grey tea bags to the water and steep until theflavor fully develops, roughly 5 minutes
Prepare the cherries. In a small saucepan, combine cherries and sugar. Cook over medium heat for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cherries soften and release their juices.
Blend the flavors. Add the brewed tea to the cherry mixture and simmer for another 2 minutes. This infuses the tea with the cherries’ vibrant flavor.
Strain (optional). For a smooth drink, strain the mixture to remove cherry solids. If you prefer a rustic feel, skip this step and enjoy bits of fruit.
Add milk and serve. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract. Serve hot or pour over ice for a refreshing cold version.
