Bulgogi Sauce

  • ½ cup soy sauce: The foundation of the bulgogi flavor, adding saltiness and umami.

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar + 2 teaspoons: Adds a touch of sweetness for a caramelizedfinish
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil: Enhances the dish with its nutty aroma.
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced: Lends warmth and depth to the flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon fresh garlic, minced: Adds a robust, aromatic kick.

Ground Beef

  • 1 pound ground beef: A quick and affordable protein option, absorbing all the sauce flavors.
  • ½ small yellow onion, diced: Brings a subtle sweetness and texture to the dish.

Toppings

  • 1 tablespoon scallion, diced: Adds a fresh, oniony garnish.
  • 1teaspoon sesame seeds: Offers a delightful crunch and nuttiness
  • 4 large soft-boiled eggs: Creamy and rich, these complete the dish with a velvety texture.

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Bulgogi Sauce: In a medium bowl, mix ½ cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 2 teaspoons sesame oil, 1 teaspoon minced ginger, and 1 teaspoon minced garlic until the sugar dissolves. Set aside.
    Ground Beef Bulgogi
  • Cook the Ground Beef: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add 1 pound ground beef and ½ diced onion. Cook for 5 minutes until the beef begins to brown.
  • Combine Beef with Bulgogi Sauce: Pour the bulgogi sauce over the beef and onion mixture. Stir well and simmer for 6–10 minutes, letting the sauce thicken and the flavors blend.
  • Prepare Toppings: Soft-boil the eggs for 6 minutes, then place in an ice bath and peel. Dice 1 tablespoon of scallions.
  • Assemble the Dish: Divide the beef mixture into 4 bowls. Top each with scallions, sesame seeds, and a soft-boiled egg. Serve over rice and enjoy!
